Shuddi (The Purification) – Patanjali talks about “impurities” and the importance of eliminating or reducing impurities and ailments that afflict the individual in body, mind and spirit, to allow the inner light of knowledge to kindle!
Samadhi – This degree encompasses the higher level of spiritual progress, from the first Samadhi to Union with Primordial Consciousness in the Seat of the Creator.
Dharma – The term Dharma is derived from the Sanskrit root dhr translatable into Italian as “to provide a basis,” meaning “foundation of reality,” “truth,” “moral obligation,” “right.”
Shanti – The Sanskrit word Shanti, indicates a state of absolute inner peace and serene imperturbability, characterized by the absence of the frantic thought-waves (vritti) generated by the mind.
OM (Ohm) – is the most sacred and representative mantra in the Hindu religion; it is considered the primordial sound that gave rise to creation. According to Hindu scriptures, the Aum mantra represents the synthesis and essence of every mantra, prayer, ritual, sacred text, celestial being or aspect of the Divine.
Prana – The Sanskrit term Prāṇa, literally means vital breath, breath or cosmic energy. According to Hindu physiology, all living beings through breathing create an interchange between the external world and the individual internal world. The Prāṇa collected at the act of breathing is assimilated by the Chakras, through the energy flow channels called Nadi.
Surya Namaskar (Sun Salutation) – Sequence of Hatha Yoga exercises appropriate for achieving and maintaining an optimal mental and physical state. “Keep your face in full sunlight and you will not be able to see the shadow.”
